Make in India

This Independence Day week we will talk about some of the brands who have given new dimensions to the Indian artisans and their talent.

If you think it is impossible to have a successful business by going back again into our cultural heritage and in this modern world only modern means can make you earn money.

You must see this brand as it is giving us directions on how the world could be a better place if we take our culture and the culturally rich villagers along.

Uplifting and improving the lives of hundreds of artisans all over India. Earning from them and making them earn as well. Such a beautiful alliance is all that we need in our country.

I have curated some of my favourite looks from the brand which I feel is such a beautiful blend between culture and modern age fashion.

Okhai is a brand trying to bring the rich cultural heritage of our country back to life. The brand is offering handcrafted apparel and lifestyle products created by rural artisans from across India. These artisans are gifted with the talent and traditional skills to craft exquisite designs in styles that are unique to their culture and heritage.

Okhai products offer contemporary designs, which are reasonably priced. Modifying and selling to help these artisans help themselves. Motivating the fading craft and encouraging the locals to get more involved in it, increasing there self-confidence and self-esteem to acquire new skills; to give them the required to earn by their own industry.

The rich culture and traditions that these rural communities are steeped in is translated into products by pairing traditional art with contemporary designs and modern processes.

Some of my favourite looks from the brand:-
